Pie


Tonight I made pie pops - tiny little pies baked onto lollipop sticks. They were really easy and anyone can do them. I used a pie crust recipe out of Joy of Cooking and then made some banana jam on the fly, using Arabica’s overripe banana stash, spices, and a jar of vanilla bean sugar I started a couple weeks ago. Mushed it up with a fork and then thickened it on the induction burner. Came out better than I expected. This recipe is a salute to the wonder that is Luxirare, if you don’t know about her insane food/art/fashion projects, well…you should. She made some of these awhile ago although I think the whole ‘putting shit on sticks’ trend is happening more and more with desserts (I saw cake pops the last time I was at Starbucks…why?).
